Charity Manager

This is an exciting new role in a grassroots charity on a mission to tackle social isolation. As Community Coordinator at CareDogs, you will be at the heart of connecting people and building a strong, engaged volunteer network. From recruiting and onboarding volunteers to coordinating group dog walks and managing key community relationships, this role is all about bringing people together. You’ll oversee the smooth running of our befriending service, keep volunteer and client records up to date, and ensure our services are well-promoted in the local community. With a growing network of volunteers and exciting projects ahead, this is the perfect opportunity to make a real impact in a small but ambitious charity

  • What you'll do:

    • Support the day-to-day running of CareDogs’ befriending service including group walk delivery, by overseeing all the related admin and keeping operations running smoothly.

    • Own volunteer and client recruitment and management, supporting the Charity Manager with managing our operational volunteers, identifying inefficiencies and opportunities for improvements, when possible.

    • Manage onboarding processes for clients and volunteers, and ensure all relevant volunteers have a completed DBS.

    • Maintain volunteer and client records, and identify best matches, ensuring our CRM is accurate and up-to-date

    • Boost engagement and keep everyone informed by communicating regularly with clients, volunteers and stakeholders regarding events etc.

    • Support the Charity Manager in delivering projects (as funded by specific grants) successfully and efficiently.

    • Attend any community cafes and local events to build up our volunteer base and get CareDogs known in the local community

    • Deliver group dog walks with partners

    • Conduct risk assessments in local parks and walking areas

    • Assist with community engagement efforts and locate further areas of interest and opportunities to promote our services through GPs, supermarkets, vets, park noticeboards etc.

    • Attend volunteer manager forums and network with other local volunteer managers

    • Support the execution of CareDogs' strategy and objectives and collate service reports, so that we can measure our success

    What you'll get:

    • Be part of a rapidly growing grassroots charity with a mission to reduce loneliness and increase wellbeing

    • A flexible role with the opportunity to work remotely

    • Support from CareDogs' experienced board members and senior leadership

    About you:

We think you’ll succeed in this role if you:

    • Are highly organised, and have proven admin experience (ideally with volunteer coordination, CRM systems, and/or client management.)

    • Are an excellent communicator and enjoy engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders

    • Have exceptional interpersonal skills, and an empathetic non-judgemental mindset

    • Are a self-starter, and are comfortable working independently and remotely

    It’s essential that you have:

    • A passion for CareDogs' mission and vision, and what we’re trying to achieve

    • A full, clean driver's license with access to your own vehicle

    • Full DBS check (we will complete this for you upon job offer)

Occasionally this role will require you to attend community CareDogs events outside of office hours, so you’ll need enough flexibility to allow for this.

If you think you may be right for the role, please send your CV and cover letter to kate@caredogs.org.uk
