Fundraising and Marketing Assistant

(16 hours per week, Ideally flexibility to spread across two days per week)

Salary: £11,780 per year (Pro-rata for 16 hours a week)
Full-Time Equivalent Salary: £27,612 per year

Location: Remote (with in-person events in South London)

This is an exciting new role in a grassroots charity on a mission to increase community and decrease loneliness and social isolation amongst older people in South London. As Fundraising and Marketing Assistant at CareDogs, you will play a key role in engaging the community, increasing donations, and growing awareness of our work. From developing fundraising initiatives and building relationships with local businesses to creating compelling marketing content and organising events, this varied role offers plenty of opportunity to make an impact. With a recent partnership secured with Tesco and a calendar of community events ahead, this is the perfect time to join a growing team dedicated to making a difference. 

  • What you'll do:

    • Proactively increase public fundraising initiatives and devise and promote ways to engage people to fundraise for / donate to

    CareDogs

    • Establish, nurture and maintain community relationships and donations including from local businesses and groups.

    • Referencing our brand guidelines, create marketing materials/social media content 

    • Research and implement opportunities for increasing donations from organised and ‘DIY’ fundraising events and challenge events. 

    • Reporting fundraising campaign income

    • Lead on public awareness-raising events such as Alexandra and Cator Park’s ‘Paws in the Park’ etc

    • Maintain and grow partnerships with local supermarkets and pet stores for fundraising opportunities. (Recently secured partnership with Tescos to fundraise in-store)

    • Cultivate and steward relationships with existing supporters through answering emails, letters and phone calls. 

    • Keep the website up-to-date with the latest blog posts, and send out monthly newsletters

    • Work with the team to provide weekly fundraising posts to deploy across social media platforms

    • Update supporter records on our CRM by inputting and updating supporter info

    About you:

    We think you’ll succeed in this job if you:

    • Have great interpersonal skills and are a confident, persuasive communicator

    • Have proven experience in fundraising and donor stewardship

    • Have strong written and verbal communication skills

    • Are a self-starter, and are comfortable working independently and remotely

    • Are familiar with the charity sector and best practice when it comes to fundraising

    • Have experience of Canva or similar content creating suite

    It’s essential that you have:

    • A passion for CareDogs' mission and vision, and what we’re trying to achieve

    • A full, clean driver's license with access to your own vehicle

    • Full DBS check  (we will complete this for you upon job offer)

    Occasionally this role will require you to attend community CareDogs events outside of office hours, so you’ll need enough flexibility to allow for this.
